Hiking trail reviews

  1. Review of hiking trails for use in trail management and accessible trail design.  The Universal Trail Assessment Process (UTAP) is used to document objectively the actual conditions in outdoor, natural environments by providing data on trail grade, cross slope, distance, width, surface and obstacles.

Federal and state standards must both be considered when evaluating buildings.

If a state standard requires a greater level of accessibility than the federal,

for example, the state standard would apply.
